I've never felt so overwhelmingly grateful to my body and mind for being so strong. I loved every minute, even the part of the course around Colliford Lake, where the wind flung itself at us and whistled around us making it really cold and hard work. Thank you to the lovely people waiting with sugared tea just out of the wind at the end of the lake, oh how splendid that tea tasted!
After the race I thought I'd write a bit about feet. I feel quite attached to mine, I know that's a funny thing to say but as a runner my feet are incredibly important to me. I look at them in awe, often. Just how do they manage to carry me around with the whole weight of my body perched above them? I give my precious feet reiki regularly. We take our feet for granted and often don't pay them enough attention. I hear people say that they don't like their feet! I can't imagine why, they're so precious.
Apart from using our hands and eyes to channel Reiki, I love channelling Reiki from my feet. As I walk or run I channel Reiki to the earth. However it's just as easy when you lie down in bed or on the sofa to fill the room with Reiki using your feet.
Something to try whilst channelling Reiki:
Lie down on the floor with your legs out in front of you. Ask a friend to lie on the floor opposite you, in the same position. Bring your feet together so that they touch.
Experiment with this position.
First one person can send Reiki to the other for 5 - 10mins then they can relax while the other person sends them Reiki for 5 - 10 mins. You can then hold the intention that Reiki be channelled to both of you at the same time. Notice the different feelings and the different intensity of energy.
This is a powerful process and both my friend and I agreed that we felt comfortable trying this exercise with someone we knew well and trusted.
Make sure you ground yourself properly after this exercise.
Love and Blessings to you all
Mavis.
