It's great to purposefully walk around visualising the power symbol on the soles of both feet. Do this when you're walking or running, sitting or just being.
Imagine a golden healing light pouring down through your crown, down through the body and into your feet. From your feet the golden light radiates out from the symbols on your soles, shining down in to the earth through the layers to the very core, bringing healing to our dear earth and at the same time bringing grounding to ourselves.
This can be felt as a Sole/Soul connection.

REIKI DAYS........
The first time I switched on Reiki
In walked love.
BIG AND BOLD,
it held me in its arms,
encompassed me with healing,
stayed as long as necessary
HELD NO JUDGEMENT.
At session end
REIKI LOVE unwrapped me gently,
And filling my aura full
walked with me.
It continues to walk with me ALWAYS.
Sometimes I forget about healing myself.
I just think… HUG
and Reiki fills every atom of my being and love holds me tight.
My aura quivers with source energy
I know that I am held in the arms of something
no words can describe however OFTEN I try.

CREATIVITY CAN HEAL
Generations of indigenous people from all over the world have known that in order to be healthy we must maintain our mind, body, heart and spirit, today we in the West call this holistic health.
To stay healthy we're called upon by your whole self to take some responsibility. If we break down the word ‘responsibility’ the words we’re left with are – response ability. This helps to identify that holistic health requires that we have the ability to respond to the needs of our mind, body, heart and spirit.
We’re born from a long line of people who have thought that we’re here to serve others, putting everyone else first. We've been made to feel guilty if we give ourselves 5 minutes to relax, never mind book ourselves in for an hours healing. Ironically, the truth of the matter is that, exactly the opposite is true. Our wellbeing and spiritual health is paramount. We can only help others if we're aware of what it takes to be well and are prepared to reflect that.
Life is creative intelligence in action, the primary creative force in the universe, moulding and shaping our existence. The very thoughts that you and I send out to the universe reflect our very own personal method of self expression. Life constantly manifests our creative intentions.
Creativity is at the heat of all things. Every moment is one of creation. Breath creates life.
Reiki is a creative expression of Gods love, Love from our Source, loving and healing Universal Energy.
Many people deny that they are creative; some believe they don’t have time to express their creativity, but it is the very source of who we are; life is inherently creative.
Creativity is the key to feeding the spirit and creating a joyful healthy life. It can bring about deep healing, change, growth and regeneration. You will learn to connect more deeply with your intuition, uniqueness, wisdom and imagination and it will expand into all areas of your life.To stop the flow of creativity is like damning a river and curtailing its flow.
Let the river flow!
Creativity is an adventure playground; unlimited possibilities exist within us, vast fields of unborn potential. By opening ourselves up to listening, to our higher self, we can access our inner source of inspiration, which can arrive in a huge variety of forms. We can even apply creative expression to the seemingly most mundane of daily tasks. Just listen to your heart.
Creativity is a joyful process of self expression, a celebratory signature of our uniqueness.
Don’t worry about criticism. We are free spirits walking a unique path, don’t become attached to what others think; merely bless them and their right to their own opinion. Celebrate and nurture your individualism, take time to praise your unique stance.
Don’t worry about criticism. We are free spirits walking a unique path, don’t become attached to what others think; merely bless them and their right to their own opinion. Celebrate and nurture your individualism, take time to praise your unique stance.
When you’re being creative, give yourself the licence to abandon self judgement and celebrate mistakes, because these are what take you out of your comfort zone and begin to lead you towards the adventurous world of experimentation, exploration and pushing personal boundaries.
Encourage yourself to take risks. Try not to plan, just invite the flow to take you. Get rid of the worry gremlins – be daring. Be a child again, get a wadge of paint on your hands and just spread it out with your fingers on paper in wild abandon, lots of colour, lots of glitter and most of all have lots of fun.
If things don’t pan out, breathe deeply consider what you’ve learnt from the processes involved, laugh a lot and move on.
Learn how exciting un-chartered territory can be. Splash wild coloured food on a plate for a dinner you’re giving, dance like you’ve never danced before, sing loudly and out of key, plant orange next to bright purple and yellow in your garden, be bold, be daring. Be spontaneous, be messy and be glad about breaking down boundaries.
Experimentation is the aim, not the enemy; mistakes should be exhilarating and not paralysing.
Pay attention to every wonderful inventive word your creative voice speaks to you, write notes about it, day dream about it, and feed the little seeds of inspiration. Try and do something to express your creativity every day.
Creativity is healing energy for your soul, enjoy the benefits and combine Reiki in all that you do. Express Reiki in creative fashion, sing the Reiki principles, write a poem about them, dance to your own intuitive, creative Reiki spirit.
o Affirm: I am an artist and I invite creativity out to play.o Set your intention clearly – e.g - I am a channel for creative inspiration/creativity flows through every part of my being.
o Feel creativity in your body, get excited about it.
o Take time to give yourself Reiki and breathe in creative energy
o Remember each breath that we take and each thought that we have is creative. You are a creative spirit.
Creativity rules!
Rampant Reiki, release my creative imagination.Release the fears that stand in my way.I breathe in; knowing that with each inhalation, Creativity, from the source, is being absorbed by every cell in my body.It flows through my veins to my heart, where it’s released with loving appreciation for the creative human being that I am.

Reiki cloak of wellness
This is a visualisation that you can do quickly and easily and with as much detail as you require at the time.
Firstly relax and become aware of the Reiki energy in your usual way. Bare in mind that as soon as you have the intention, Reiki is with you and you are its channel.
You are walking through a wooded area, with trees of the most lush and scrumptious green. Fine ferns and long grasses. Its such a peaceful place and rejuvenating. There's a soft breeze that touches the leaves and cools you as you walk amongst the shady cover of the branches.
You stop a while, you are looking for your Reiki cloak of wellness. When you turn around there it is hanging on the branch of a tree in front of you. A fine dusty sparkle glows all over it, it glitters in the light, tiny Reiki symbols play all around it. As you pick it up you sense the Reiki energy, powerful and strong with a mighty intelligence. You know that it's very special, it makes your hands tingle and you feel a strong loving energy fill you up.
As you watch it in your hands you see the colours changing, all the colours of the rainbow radiate and dance around it, inside it, through it. Symbols seem to appear and disappear in a golden mist, one minute appearing on the fabric, the next dancing above it and all around you.
The cloak is made from the most amazing translucent, light material. You put it on feeling the material on your skin, dancing lightly in the breeze. Wrap the cloak around yourself and notice its length, covering you down to your toes. You lift the hood over your head.
You continue to walk through the woods. As you walk you breathe in and feel the healing energy from the cloak absorbed into your body, healing is in you and all around you, you feel each cell in your body filling up with love and light, all around you the healing is shining outwards radiating out to everything and everyone around you. Its exhilarating.
You continue to experience this for as long as you want. Give thanks for the Reiki you have recieved and for the healing and protection that the cloak offers.
You are aware that anytime you go out you can visualise putting on this cloak and it will surround you in healing energy and offer protection wherever you go. If you forget to visualise it before you go out just see yourself in your minds eye putting on the cloak when you feel you need it.

Consider for today:
I heard the following quote this morning and thought it was a good phrase to meditate on today:
'If we all sang the very same note, there would be no song'
Difference is beautiful, it's a celebration of God's creativity, of our own creativity. Diversity enables us to follow our own individual path, feeling celebration in our hearts that we are unique and special in every way.
No two people will feel how I feel at any one time,
No two people will see what I see,
No two people will walk this earth on the very same path.
However,
we can share our experiences and be uplifted by the multi-coloured shades of life and love.

Healing for plants
Hi there, I'm an avid collector of orchids and love them all dearly. They inspire me and bring great joy.
Whenever I've given my plants Reiki I've felt that they really enjoyed it and recenlty decided to see what would happen if I chose two specifically to give Reiki to every day. I've been doing it for about 3 weeks and each of the plants that I've been working on has got a new leaf growing from its centre. It may be coincidence but I prefer to think that they're responding to the attention that I'm giving them and to the Reiki that they're recieving.
When I give Reiki to each of them I send love and stroke the leaves.
I hold the pot and send Reiki through this too. It's a wonderful process which I feel has a huge benefit on the plants.
Other ways I've used Reiki for plants, seeds and gardening:

Other ways I've used Reiki for plants, seeds and gardening:
- Reiki the hole in the ground where you are about to plant a new plant or scatter seeds. In addition sometimes it's just nice to say a little prayer, to bless the soil and to remember the rain and sunshine that will encourage the plant to grow.
- Give Reiki to seeds before they're planted. Using the distant healing symbol helps to send reiki to the future health and wellbeing of the plant.
- Reiki the water you use to feed the plants.
- Give Reiki to the compost you'll use for your plants.
- When I'm away from home I send Reiki to my garden and my indoor plants so that I know they'll thrive when I'm away.
- Put pictures of the symbols under your plant pots.
- Paint pictures of the Reiki symbols on to plant pots if you want.
- Give Reiki to the water used in a spray bottle to mist the plants.
- Reiki plant food before you add it to plant water.
Try these things for yourself and see what results you get. Let me know how you get on!

A word about 'JOY'.
Being aware of Joy and feeling its presence in our lives is a choice. We don't need others to assist in finding joy, its something we can do here and now.
Joy can be thought of as a seed that we nurture and allow to grow within, to assist us in our daily lives. It's a great idea to do a visualization, setting the intention that you're going to meet with a symbol that represents joy for you.
Sit quietly and relax. Ground yourself and centre.
Hold the intention for a while that you will be guided to meet a symbol that represents joy for you.
Imagine that you're walking in a beautiful spring time woodland. You feel light and happy. You want to dance and sing. As you make your way through the wood you come across a clearing, you sit down on the beautiful bright green fresh grass. There are so many wild flowers and the birds are singing all around you. As you sit there you become aware of a something or someone behind you, you turn around and you see the most beautiful............
What do you see? What is this that represents joy to you?
You are free to speak with it, to examine it.
Once you have been here for as long as you wish, you make your way back through the woodland to where you started and become aware of your surroundings. You are back sitting in your chair in your room.
Why don't you take time to sit for a while and ask Joy to come to work with you, to show its presence in what you do daily.
Whilst you prepare to channel Reiki invite joy to assist you.
From this moment on watch yourself, keep a gentle smile on your face and look out for joy in whatever you do. Invite it into your life, invite it to heal you.
Meditate with a smile on your face sensing the feeling of joy growing within you daily, becoming a truly liberating sensation from your toes right up too your nose and to the top of your head. It's all around you.
Joy is something that you can nurture, it can change your life.
Try to express joy in as many ways as possible, nourish and nurture it in this moment, in every moment, remembering that life is a joyous experience.
If you work with joy it becomes something that you can feel all over.
Do things that make you happy, do things that make your heart sing.

Review notes for 'Remove unwated emotions with Reiki'
If you decide to work with the exercise below you'll soon be aware of changes, insights, feelings or signs that it's in the process of working.
Having successfully used this method in the past, I decided to use it again to work on an emotion of my own.
I felt it would be beneficial to record the results daily over the next 28 days.
Day one - As I started the exercise, beaming Reiki with my eyes and then my hands, I felt compelled to jump up and down on the focus emotion, I guess it had been causing rather more frustration than I first thought!! I then enjoyed the process of watching it surrounded by light and then melting away. I felt that Reiki was providing me with a huge amount of self healing, it immediately felt like the appropriate action to be taking.
Day two - A particular physical ailment, that had been recurring, returned as I was doing the Reiki light box visualisation. I intuitively knew that this physical feeling was manifesting because of the focus emotion I was now working on.
Day three - I was aware that I was able to view the Reiki light box in my mind and practice sending Reiki to it during the day.
Day four - Lots of things have come up that have tested my dedication to this process. I am being given opportunities to use the information I've learnt from this emotion, regularly. I've also started to develop an understanding of why this focus emotion has turned up in my life. It's not easy but it's been enlightening and I feel I'm moving forward.
Day Five - The focus emotion has become prominent in my thoughts. Its clear it's been around for some time. Illogical and repetitive thoughts have kept entering my mind, but intuition tells me that I must let them be and let them pass. I mustn't focus on them because its a clearing of the thoughts that are stuck. I feel happy that I'm moving through part of the process of release.
Day six - I am sending Reiki to the focus emotion regularly. I've also found that its important to read inspiring information and to spend time blessing the wonderful things in my life, this helps to surround me in positive energy and healing.
Every day I have continued to work on the focus emotion, taking notes in a journal I keep. Every day I feel that the challenges have intensified and that it's a journey of self discovery as well as one of conquering outgrown emotions.
Day Seven - It's getting harder to deal with the things that have arisen.
Day Eight - I have written a lot in my journal this morning. I write morning and if necessary evening pages, they have helped me explore my feelings and the emotions that have arisen.
Day nine - I'm making sure I practice Reiki on myself every morning, yes it takes time to write and practice self Reiki, but I feel its necessary to make a commitment to myself and therefore if necessary get up earlier to fit it all in.
Day ten - at some points when I visualise the focus emotion that I want to work on I have found that I can be quite destructive, I jump up and down on it and have even used a hammer on the word appearing in front of me! It's all a good sign that the emotion is really being released.
Day eleven - I find myself looking more and more at the word in front of me and beaming Reiki with my eyes or hands. Today I saw the focus emotion melt away and I was able to direct Reiki to the water left on the ground, it dried in front of my eyes and then I felt drawn to smudging the whole area with sage and affirming 'I am clear, I am clear, I am clear'.
Day twelve - I have been trying to use the Reiki box method, but the beaming method seems more appropriate at present, I feel that the light box will come towards the end of the process to clean up and complete.
Day thirteen and fourteen - I feel a greater sense of calm about the process now.
Day fifteen - Whilst beaming Reiki at the focus emotion lost of colours have started to appear, yellow, cerise, turquoise all stand out.
Day sixteen - colour continues to be present and moving about as if imitating the Northern lights.
Day Seventeen - I've been able to return to visualising the Reiki box more effectively. It feels that the situation is healing now.
Day Eighteen - The focus emotion seems less prominent now. As I visualise it, it already seems to have fuzzy edges and is less of a presence.
Day nineteen - I've continued to use the Reiki box visualisation and this seems to make me feel more peaceful.
Day Twenty - As I do the visualisation I feel a sense of lightness coming over me, as if I can feel healing literally going on inside me.
I have reconvened writing this at the 28th day - There is no doubt it's been a struggle and on some days I felt that the process wasn't really working, or perhaps it was that it wasn't working fast enough for me! Having made a commitment to myself about this I carried on and I'm glad I did. I feel a sense of understanding that I have released the focus emotion and that it has done its job. I feel that things have changed and that I can move forward knowing that its been dealt with. It's a release.

Release unwanted emotions with Reiki
You need to follow this exercise for 28 days in order for it to impact on your consciousness, its very powerful and effective.
Close your eyes and call on Reiki.
Ask that one emotion that is no longer helpful to you be identified.
Relax and note the first emotion that comes to your mind.
With your eyes still shut, see this emotion as a symbol, word or picture in front of you.
You can use either one of the following methods:
Method 1.
Ask for Reiki to heal this unwanted emotion. Thank it for working with you and for lessons you've learnt through it.
Reiki can be beamed to whatever you wish by using your eyes, hold the intention of doing this , visualize yourself beaming Reiki to the emotion (your symbol, word or picture). From the centre of the emotion you start to see golden light growing, it becomes brighter and brighter.
Then you hold your hands out in front of you and have the intention of sending Reiki via your hands. You can now see the golden light encompassing the unwanted emotion and completely transmuting it, melting it away into love and universal energy. You may see other colours surrounding the emotion, relax and let the process happen naturally.
Do this for as long as you feel necessary, 10-15 mins should be ample. Thank Reiki for its help and thank yourself for being able to let go.
If you'd like to use the Reiki symbols you can use what I call a Reiki light box.
Method 2.
Follow the procedure above, inviting Reiki to heal this unwanted emotion, thank the emotion for working with you and for the lessons you've learnt through it.
Draw a power symbol and see it being positioned behind the word, picture, symbol that you are using to represent your unwanted emotion. Then see another being positioned at the front, then the two sides. Draw another above and watch it drift down through the emotion so that it is underneath it, do the same with the rest of the symbols watching each drifting down into the emotion and dissolving it. As you do this golden light is growing from the centre of the Reiki box that you've made and is bursting out all over, finally you draw the power symbol to make the top of the box. Watch as the golden light spreads outwards from the centre of the box and melts and transmutes the emotion into love and universal energy.
Remember to do this for 28 days.
Close your eyes and call on Reiki.

Focus on a smile and laugh out loud
"The most wasted day of all is that during which we have not laughed."
-- R. N. Chamfort --
Start by calling on Reiki to show you the meaning of joy.
-- R. N. Chamfort --
Start by calling on Reiki to show you the meaning of joy.
If you've been given the symbols then draw the Power symbol, then the Emotional symbol in front of you, saying their mantra three times. Visualise walking right into them so that they encompasses you, hold the intention that you will be enabled to find joy and to find reasons to laugh out loud. Smile now! yes broadly and with feeling, relax into this facial expression and enjoy its comforting embrace.
See if you can go a step further and laugh out loud, right now.
Just for today, at least once, hold a smile on your face with mindfulness. Focus on joy. Relax and use this time to notice those things around you that make you happy.
This week in our office I was able, through this practice, to notice that one of my colleagues chats away to himself while he works, he's not aware of it but it makes me smile because its an individual characteristic of someone special in our team.
I also noticed that one of our staff circles the office regularly to visit the chocolate tin! that made me smile more.
I smiled when I went running last night and watched people passing with the same puzzled look on their faces as I used to have, when I was thinking 'haven't they got anything better to do in this hurrendous weather, why do they put themselves through it!' now I know what a buzz it is and how good it makes them feel. This made me laugh out loud.
Try and cultivate this experience into a practice of laughing out loud. Reiki is about experiencing healing and there is nothing more healing than experiencing joy and laughter.

Living with the attitude of gratitude
I received a book from my Mum some time ago now:
THE GENTLE ART OF BLESSING by Pierre Pradervand (details of which can be found at http://www.cygnus-books.co.uk
I realised that this book had had a significant impact on my day to day way of thinking. It showed me that by focusing on the things I was grateful for I could never worry or anger because my mind would always be full of positive thoughts. I began to work more and more with the idea of blessing all the things around me. At first it was difficult and I thought I was never going to get into the swing of clearing the debris from my mind, my unnecessary worries and fears, but slowly I found that by making a commitment to myself, having a firm intention every day to notice the things that I was grateful for, I found it easier and indeed a pleasure. It even became fun. I worried at first that I wasn't doing it right, I forgot to do it, it was all too much pressure - I came up with a million and one excused not to do it, some quite ridiculous like not having time, how come then I had so much time to spare when it came to worrying.
We all have good in our lives, actually, lots of good stuff. The trouble is we take much of it for granted.
Blessing the things we're grateful for helps us to remember, to stop and appreciate things around us, the things that we have forgotten to notice.
Firstly what does it mean - To bless something means to give gratitude, its a voice from our heart which celebrates our life and all that's in it. There is no discrimination against anyone or anything.
Blessing is simply gratitude; it does away with fears of scarcity and focuses our attention on abundance. It also helps us to reach beyond the things that we see directly in front of us. We start to search beyond the visible; the stillness of air, the warmth of the rain, fern like shapes of morning ice. Its a bit like being a child receiving the gift of a magnifying glass or a microscope, all of a sudden you want to search the house and garden for things to look at under it. It opens up a whole new world, one you'd not been aware of before and one that’s truly exciting, offering a new perspective.
You cannot bless anything without being present, in the moment. Blessing has opened my eyes, has made me want to stop and take in the moment. I've found that by doing this I have become so much more grounded, if I'm constantly looking for things I’m grateful for, I simply haven't got time to worry, I'm present and in my body.
I’m human and I haven’t found it easy to focus on the things I’m grateful for. No one can just change their mind set suddenly, we need patience. However blessing has allowed me to appreciate the Reiki principles in a different way, one that’s more accessible to me.

What is Reiki News and Views
Reiki News and Views is a newsletter sent out every two months to those that are students or practitioners of Reiki. This can be accessed by visiting http://www.spiritandwellbeing.co.uk/
This newsletter is meant as a place to share experiences and ideas about Reiki, with an emphasis on joy. We would like individuals to contribute things that have been inspired by Reiki and which they feel would inspire others.
I decided to start this blog as a way of adding additional information that doesn't make it to the newsletter, but which I feel is of value to those interested in Reiki.
