You can do this either on the floor or on the bed.
In my own experience doing this exercise before I go to bed makes me feel a bit too wide awake to go to sleep, but it's through experience that we find what's right for us and you need to assertain for yourself what feels good and what doesn't. Remember there aren't any hard and fast rules, if you sense you need to do things differently then do so.
Call on Reiki and immerse yourself in it for 5-10mins or as long as you feel necessary to relax fully into it.
Bring your hands up to your heart, placing one hand on top of the other. Imagine your heart opening to Reiki.
Bend your knees and lay them out against the floor (or bed) bringing your feet up to meet each other sole to sole.
Take a few deep breaths and relax into this position.
Imagine a ball of light above your head and see a beam of light travelling down through your crown to your heart, your sacral centre and to the soles of your feet.
State out loud or in your head "I am grounded between heaven and earth"
again breathe deeply and feel yourself firmly planted on the breathing earth. See the light becoming brighter around your feet and flowing into the earth.
State out loud or in your head "I am centred"
Breathe deeply from about two inches below your naval, know that you are perfectly balanced between the physical and spiritual. Imagine the beam of light becoming brighter in the sacral area.
State out loud or in your head "I am balanced" Feel the right and left sides of your body perfectly in alignment and equally supporting you. Now the light becomes brighter within the heart area. Be grateful in this moment for all the different aspects of yourself that go to making the whole, perfect being that you are, love all that you are deeply.
Bathe in the light and Reiki energy for as long as is comfortable. Be open to experience and put aside expectation.
It can be a little uncomfortable to maintain this position for any length of time so make sure you take care to remain comfortable, only hold this position for a few minutes if its more appropriate.
