Something I've learnt in the last few weeks:
Don't fill my mind with worry.
It contorts all my creative endevours and clouds my perspective. Worrying means that I'm not expecting the best outcomes for others or myself.
Worrying means that I'm being presented with a situation and I'm seeing it in completely the wrong way. Time to put in to practice the things that I've learnt this year.
I saw last night that a creative way of looking at my mind is to view it as a snowglobe, all the stagnant thoughts need to have a shake up to get all the glitter and sparkle shaken up.
By focusing on the drama I promote drama around me.
Instead I visualise peace, joy and positive outcomes, knowing that I cannot affect another persons world for they are responsible for their lives just as I am for mine.

HOLD IT IN YOUR HANDS
Hi there, a cold and frosty morning again! no snow though, a huge blessing.
This week I've been drawn to making things, drawing, writing and even knitting, something I haven't done since I was in school. I've discovered that knitting is a wonderful form of meditation! It also reminds me of the amazing power my hands have to transform thoughts and dreams into reality. It seems there's a steady stream of reminders about the wonderful attributes that different parts of my body bring into my life. So, today I will send love, light and gratitude to my hands for their ability to help me create, and for the highways of energy that run through them allowing me to channel healing.
Exercise to send love and healing to any situation or person.
Sit and put your hands on your legs, give self reiki for 5 minutes.
Either in your minds eye, or for real, cup your hands in front of you. Inside them put the situation or person that you would like to shine light and healing onto.
Imagine a beautiful light engulfing the whole situation/person. Do this for 5-10mins and repeat as you feel necessary.
I've found this exercise brought me a feeling of great calm and love. I can just imagine whatever I want in my cupped hands, streaming light and love to everything in them. I usually picture this in my head, which means I can do it anytime or anywhere.
Try this: Imagine that you have the whole planet in your hands and surround it in light and love. Our dear planet needs to be loved so spend time every day sending loving thoughts to her.

messages for me this week
For the last week it's been evident that there are a number of really important changes coming to the fore. changes have been happening throughout the year, lots of them! But now it seems it's down to the grand finale
- It's time to put all that I've learnt into pracice. Every day seems to call to me "what have you been taught about this situation, what are the tools you can use".
- Reiki and working with energy - it's time to release all my fears and limitations and expand way beyond my perception so that I don't limit my experiences. As I trust more, listen and focus on the energy, it's changing beyond recognition and the energy is certainly becoming stronger. As I focus on my Reiki practice and self healing there is a whole new understanding of my body and the energy within it. I'm much more aware of how my body speaks to me and recognise that for many years we've been strangers and now we have a whole new relationship.
- I need to listen. It's important for me to listen more intently to my intuition and my guides. The more I pay attention to the little nudges and whispers, the more prominent they become.
- I have learnt all that I need to know for now, to monitor my thoughts and beliefs more rigorously. It's time to move forward and trust the process will take me to the next level. I need to test myself now and my conviction to all that I believe through my Reiki practice and my spiritual work. Thoughts become reality, so now's the time to become aware more than ever of the the thoughts that will become my future.
- Everything is testing my ability to trust, to remain calm and centred, to listen to guidance, to be aware of signs and symbols that are sent for me to take action.
- Cultivate my imagination - I've learnt that my imagination is more important to me than I ever realised. Now I've found how much fun using my imagination can be and that it's important for me to focus on developing it further, every moment of every day.
- I've found that I suffer from very tense muscles all the time because I'm afraid to let go. Now I'm making friends with my body and the messages it's sending me I'm able to do something about it and am aware that constantly monitoring my body and the way it feels, talking to it with love and giving it healing is making all the difference.

Maximising your potential to channel Reiki.
Sorry, It's been a while since I last wrote. Things have been really busy, not least because one of my goals this year was to run a marathon and I achieved this last Sunday!! I ran the Cornish Marathon and was just overwhelmed at how much support I had from friends, relatives, Cornish onlookers, my fellow running club members etc. It was a wonderful experience.
I've never felt so overwhelmingly grateful to my body and mind for being so strong. I loved every minute, even the part of the course around Colliford Lake, where the wind flung itself at us and whistled around us making it really cold and hard work. Thank you to the lovely people waiting with sugared tea just out of the wind at the end of the lake, oh how splendid that tea tasted!
After the race I thought I'd write a bit about feet. I feel quite attached to mine, I know that's a funny thing to say but as a runner my feet are incredibly important to me. I look at them in awe, often. Just how do they manage to carry me around with the whole weight of my body perched above them? I give my precious feet reiki regularly. We take our feet for granted and often don't pay them enough attention. I hear people say that they don't like their feet! I can't imagine why, they're so precious.
Apart from using our hands and eyes to channel Reiki, I love channelling Reiki from my feet. As I walk or run I channel Reiki to the earth. However it's just as easy when you lie down in bed or on the sofa to fill the room with Reiki using your feet.
This is a powerful process and both my friend and I agreed that we felt comfortable trying this exercise with someone we knew well and trusted.
Make sure you ground yourself properly after this exercise.
Love and Blessings to you all
Mavis.

Something to try whilst channelling Reiki:
Lie down on the floor with your legs out in front of you. Ask a friend to lie on the floor opposite you, in the same position. Bring your feet together so that they touch.
Experiment with this position.
First one person can send Reiki to the other for 5 - 10mins then they can relax while the other person sends them Reiki for 5 - 10 mins. You can then hold the intention that Reiki be channelled to both of you at the same time. Notice the different feelings and the different intensity of energy.

Clearing the aura
I've been shown a number of ways of clearing the aura, prior to starting a reiki treatment or as a stand alone exercise. One of the methods that I like using involves using a fairly chubby single terminated quartz crystal.
I start the session as I would normally, this involves grounding - imagine roots coming down through the bottom of my feet and into the ground, I affirm 'I am grounded'
Then I centre, I just breathe consciously and into my naval area imagining a beautiful sun shining and affirm ' I am centred'.
I place my hand gently on the wrist of the client and connect saying a short prayer to ask for guidance and give thanks.
Starting at the left of the client, at the feet, move the quartz crystal in a circular anti-clockwise motion feeling the energy as you go.
It's similar to the procedure for scanning a body with your hands. You're moving the crystal and at the same time feeling for energy sensations that indicate the need for extra clearance or healing. If you sense that the energy is dense, heavy or out of cilter then stay in that area moving the crystal in the anti-clockwise direction until you feel it's ok to move on. continue with this procedure up the left side of the body and the left arm until you reach the head and crown. Continue the process down the right side of the body.
Once you reach the right foot you will need to grasp the crystal in both hands and blow through the base of the crystal affirming that the crystal is free of all energy that is no longer required.
Starting from the left foot again, repeat the exercise this time by turning the quartz crystal in a circular Clockwise direction. When you move the crystal you should now notice the aura feeling lighter and healthier.
When you've finished the exercise you can start the Reiki treatment as normal, or you can simply touch the clients wrist to let them know that you've finished.
Place your crystal in a bowl of sea salt to cleanse.

Water - straight to the source
I've been feeling quite dehydrated and thirsty over the last few weeks and was given a top tip to try by a very lovely friend of mine.
Get yourself a glass of water and give it Reiki. Ask that the Reiki flow with the water to wherever it's needed.
Take a sip of the water, but don't swallow it. Keep the water in your mouth and move it around, under and over your tongue and around all the areas of the inside of your mouth. Then swallow.
Variations on your intention, before you swallow could be :
'This water goes directly to my kidneys'
'This water goes directly to my legs'
'This water goes to wherever it's needed and makes me healthy and hydrated.'
It might help if you hold the glass of water in both hands and ask your body 'where do you need this water to go' - what is the first area that comes to mind?
Meditate with Reiki and ask where it would like the water to go, listen to your intuition.
Try this and see what happens.
Love and Blessings.

Reiki with your eyes
Here was an eye right in front of me, looking at me intensely and reminding me that Reiki can be sent just as well by using our eyes as it can by using our hands. Without thinking I use my eyes to channel Reiki, especially on my drive to work in the mornings - generally the place I get stuck in traffic and have time to use this method of channelling to good effect.
The method of sending Reiki with the eyes is called Gyoshi Ho.
As usual while working with Reiki, all we need is to clearly decide on our intention - allow your thoughts to merge with the Reiki energy, feel it and sense its presence. Just be aware of the flow of Reiki. If your thoughts start to rush around, then gently bring your attention back to the Reiki energy without getting cross with yourself. Practising Reiki is as much about learning to be with and experience the energy as anything else.
You might want to ask your Reiki guides to work with you. Ask that your guides assist you to feel comfortable with the process and for it to work for the highest good.
As with Reiki in general, the more you practice the technique the more magnified the energy that is experienced.
Beaming Reiki is helpful if someone doesn't like being touched, or if you can't touch their body due to injuries, if you want to send Reiki to an animal that won't sit still, if you want to send Reiki to children that are running around, you can send Reiki to people in the street as they pass, areas of your body and so on.
In the morning, sitting in the car I beam Reiki with my eyes to the trees on the verges at the side of the road, the plants that I see, to my feet knowing they've worked hard during the week, I beam Reiki to the people in the cars in front of me, people riding motor bikes so that they recieve more protection from the risks around them. The list of possibilities is endless.
Simply imagine a beam of white light travelling from your eyes to the patient, plant, animal, or whatever it is that you wish to channel Reiki to. Of course people and animals don't like being stared at so please bare this in mind and don't make the recipient feel uncomfortable.
You can beam a large ring of light around people, visualise a bubble around things and then fill it by beaming Reiki into it, experiment, open your imagination and be open to possibility.
Reiki Blessings.

Reiki - First time experiences
The first time I switched on Reiki
in walked love.
BIG AND BOLD.
It held me in its arms,
encompassed me with healing,
stayed as long as necessary
HELD NO JUDGEMENT.
At session end
REIKI LOVE unwrapped me gently,
and filling my aura full
walked with me.
It continues to walk with me ALWAYS.
Sometimes I forget about healing myself,
I just think.......... HUG
and Reii fills every atom of my being and love holds me tight.
My aura quivers with source energy
I know that i am held in the arms of something
no words can describe however OFTEN I try.

Protection
We've talked about Grounding and centering in the last few blogs. I think of these two exercises as being the foundations to my Reiki practice, there is one more - Protection.
To ground, centre and protect are the three elements that keep me safe and well every day. Even if you only spend 5 minutes doing these three things you'll notice a difference in the way the day goes. I like the fact that even during the day it's possible to carry out these three short exercises and to feel better about things.
I'm surrounded by people every day at work, as well as working closely with individuals through my Reiki practice. Years ago I noticed that I felt incredibly drained after being in the presence of some people, sometimes I would feel overwhelmed by this sense of tiredness. The reason? Some people that we come into contact with simply don't know they're doing it, but they draw on our energy. Drawing on someone's energy can be an instinctive processes for those that aren't well or are feeling down, they probably have no idea that they're doing it. Whilst your working as a Reiki practitioner you might notice that you feel drained after being in the company of some people, if this is the case then you might like to think about providing yourself with some protection.
Protecting yourself is a simple, straightforward process. There are a number of books that give advice if you'd like to know more.
Some people use prayers to God/ our source, some ask the angels for help, especially Archangel Michael, there are many ways to try and as with Reiki, the best way is the way that you're most comfortable with.
If you feel vulnerable to the energy vibrations around you, or even if you're not sure what that means, try the following and see how you feel.
I am the violet flame and fire of light.
*
The light of God surrounds me
The love of God enfolds me
The power of God protects me
The presence of God watches over me
Wherever I am God is.
*
I call on Archangel Michael to protect me and guide me at all times.
*
Lord Michael before, Lord Michael behind
Lord Michael to the left, Lord Michael to the right
Lord Michael above, Lord Michael below
Lord Michael, Lord Michael, wherever I go.
Remember it is the intention that matters. Be confident that you're working in the light and for the highest good.
Always remain grounded.
Remember that Reiki is a joyous experience and that you should't get bogged down with things, just trust and flow wherever you go.

- First thing in the morning call on Reiki, using the power symbol and distance healing symbol. Have the intention that you will be protected by all energies that are not for your highest good.
- When you wake up say to yourself, or out loud "I am protected, I am protected, I am protected".
- Visualise a huge protective coat/cloak all around you, it can by plain or decorated, warm and scrumptious, make it how you want it. I love to imagine a thick purple velvet cloak with a gold lining which is filled with Reiki symbols.
- Visualise that you're surrounded by a large bright violet flame burning brightly all around you. Know that nothing but goodness and love can penetrate it.
- Imagine a tube of light surrounding you, reaching right down into the earth and up to the sky. You can see this as a wall made of golden bricks or blocks or like a huge strong ray of light if you prefer, remember you can visualise the Reiki symbols within the light or bricks.
- Imagine a beautiful flower, you're in the middle of it feeling safe and secure. The petals fold down around you and keep you safe. You might find that you're drawn to working with a specific colour flower that enables you to feel even more protected. In the centre of the flower you can draw the Reiki symbols that you feel drawn to using. You could imagine the power symbol underneath you, or visualise 4 around you, one above and one below depending on the circumstances.
- Imagine a mirror all the way around you, reflecting back all that is not for your highest good.
- See a large, strong, impressive shield in front of you, shielding you from all the energies that aren't helpful to you. Remember to inject some Reiki into the shield.
- See yourself inside a big bubble of light. Fill the bubble with Reiki. Imagine tiny Reiki symbols floating around inside sparkling and keeping you safe and well.
I am the violet flame and fire of light.

Reiki sleep tonic
Hello there!
I've been away for a few days to Wales. I'm back refreshed by the green rolling fields and the sensational flame coloured trees. Any cobwebs that were left were blown away by billowing winds followed by a deep clean, courtesy of the torrential downpours that ensued. There's no adventure without variety!!!
I'll be uploading a few photos in the next few days so keep your eyes open.
I usually have a bit of trouble sleeping in a bed that isn't my own, always a downfall of going away from home. However Reiki came to the rescue as usual and I thought I'd share my latest Reiki tonics.
Drawing/visualising the emotional and/or power symbol over my third eye helped me go to sleep really quickly.
or
Visualising the emotional and/or power symbol within my mind, either still or turning very slowly, aided my state of calm until I was able to sleep.
I held the intention
'My mind is still and calm, my sleep is deep and refreshing'.
Both methods worked just as well and it's a good opportunity to spend some time meditating on the symbols to strengthen our relationship with them.

Autumn
Autumn's here. Look at the photo above, can you see what appears to be a hand to the right of the red/yellow leaf. Mother earth reaches out to touch our hearts with her last display of magical colour before Winter falls.
Autumn always reminds me of my deep connection with the earth. It reminds me of where my roots are, of how important colour is in my life. When the mornings are cold and I can follow my breath on the air, it reminds me of the importance of my experience of life.
Autumn reminds me that in order to create action I need to rest, recoup and plan ready for the next round of doing. This period of Autumnal colour signals a time of focus on self healing and longer periods of meditation to connect with who I really am and also to connect and experience Reiki at a deeper level.
The last few days I've felt inclined to draw the Power symbol around me, on my left and right, infront and to my back, as well as above and below me. I imagine the space around me, between the symbols and myself, all filled with beautiful protective, healing and glittering light with tiny reiki symbols all around. This space is restful and protective, healing and restorative.
Something else I've found helpul:
I visualise the Distance healing symbol behind me and see it extending into my past, healing and releasing all the things that I've outgrown and that are no longer useful to me. Sometimes this appears as a strong picture of a symbol in 3D and in bright colour, whereas at other times this changes and it becomes like beautiful, misty, glittering, dust that swirls around me and trails off into the distance behind me.
One more thing:
I've been working with the Emotional symbol more frequently. I draw the Emotional symbol on my third eye in the morning when giving myself reiki. I've found the last few months have been quite emotional. Reiki has restored my strength and hope.
Try this:
Before you put on your shoes fill them with Reiki. Visualise the symbols within the shoes and choose an intention, an example could be " I walk in love", "Today I walk with my head held high", "As I walk so I am grounded in the love of the earth".
Never neglect to treat yourself with kindness.
Reiki blessings to you.

Grounding
It's important for all of us as humans trying to live a spiritual life, that we have a solid foundation. Grounding provides us with this firm foundation for our spiritual growth.
If things get a bit hectic it's easy to feel unsteady, a bit giddy, light headed and unable to keep your feet firmly on the floor. Grounding helps keep us steady.
Earth energy is heavy, powerful and grounding and this gives us physical and mental strength. To feel grounded, is to feel strong, secure and safe as well as physically connected to the environment.
For this exercise stand with room around you. Raise your arms and visualise yourself as a mighty tree rooted into the earth and extending its branches to the Universe. Try and really feel the experience.
Exercise:
Focus on your solar plexus
Breathe in deeply and out slowly. Do this a few times concentrating on the same spot.
Say to yourself 'I am centred'.
Raise your arms to the Universe and try the following visualisation and decree.
I am a tree
grounded, supported, supportive and balanced.
I stand firm on the ground - solid roots emerge from the souls of my feet
Spreading outwards and downwards,
excitedly feeling their way.
I sense the coolness of the soil
as my extending roots penetrate deeply into the earth.
Deeper, deeper, deeper they go.
Feel the worms tickling my toes.
I am grounded
From my feet upwards,
I am the trunk of a mighty tree
I feel joy at my strength, durability and my supportive structure.
I reach and spread my arms upwards, outwards.
I sense the great power that comes from above
and feel light pouring downwards, flooding my being
from top to bottom and throughout.
I breathe deeply from just below my naval,
focusing on my individual power, my own personal light
I am centred.
My roots ground me
My arms connect me
My trunk centres me
I live in the joy of who I am
It is my intention to be in a place of joy.
I AM.

Centering
Lots of people talk about 'centering', but what is it?
Centering means to align our body and mind, taking the time to be in the moment, to focus and calm ourselves.
Everything is made up of energy and there are hundreds of names for this energy. Two types of energy that we're concerned with when centering are 'Earth' energy or chi and 'Heaven' energy or chi, two of the primary components of the Universe.
We're made up of a blend of these energies, earth chi represents the physical and heaven chi represents the mind. To integrate mind and body we need to work on balancing earth and heaven chi, which then creates centredness.
Think of the earth chi point - this is about 2 inches below the naval. This is known in Zen Buddhism as the tanden. This is reputed to be the centre of gravity and balance for our body. When you focus the mind here it is immediately integrated with the body. The mind and body become balanced.
Breathe in to this point below your naval, deeply and slowly. Affirm to yourself 'I am centred'.
By doing this exercise the mind becomes focused in the now, the physical self, rather than racing all over the place with our day to day thoughts.

Thought for today.........
Look to this day,
for yesterday is but a dream
and tomorrow is only a vision.
But today, well lived,
makes every yesterday
a dream of happiness
and every tomorrow
a vision of hope,
look well
therefore to this day.

JUST FOR A WHILE, SOAK UP A SMILE
Fill up with joy!
Feeling full of joy and reflecting it out to the world around you is a great way to bring healing into your own life and the lives of those around you.
Still your mind, body and spirit.
Breathe deeply and relax.
You are aware that in your hand you have a small bag; in that bag is a selection of balloons. They're all different colours, all shapes and sizes. You notice the way they look, the texture and the bag that they're contained in.
When you're ready decide what's stopping JOY being let lose inside you.
Say to yourself " I release .........."
Blow into the balloon and inflate it. Whilst doing this you feel every ounce of the thing that you are releasing being expelled into the balloon. Don't worry how big the balloon gets, it won't burst or hurt you.
When you're ready you tie the balloon and release it into the universe.
Watch as the balloon floats away high up into the cosmos.
As each balloon reaches higher and higher, you see it explode and all that was inside turns into sparkly particles of joy and millions of tiny Reiki symbols which fill the sky with love, light and healing.
As you watch the last balloon take flight and being transformed into healing, consciously SMILE.
Breathe in and out slowly, focusing on that wonderful smile. What feeling does it give you inside, how does it make you feel?
Working through each part of your body, from top to toe, sense each part smiling with a broad, glorious smile.
When doing this exercise you might find it difficult to feel a smile in some areas, if you do, imagine a big yellow smiley. Imagine transforming your whole head into a big smiley, then see a smiley face attached to your throat etc. I especially enjoy seeing my knees with a cartoon smiley like appearance and each of my toes; it never fails to bring a smile to my face!! We can have an imagination as lively as you like, after all the whole point of the exercise is to make you smile.

Frozen light and rainbows
In my opinion each of us must interpret the impressions we get from dreams and meditations from our own perspective, for each of us images mean different things. It's part of the process of TRUST and following our own guidance, intuition and inner voice.
I thought I'd share with you my interpretation of what I see.
The quartz symbolises all the energies of the cosmos, combining together to create something perfect, something that captures the potential of the Universe. Fire, earth, water and air join forces to create something unique, full to overflowing with vibrant energy.
In some traditions Quartz is known as 'frozen light' a concept that makes my heart sing, for it does indeed seem to shine and radiate light. We also shine out our own individual light, radiating love and compassion as we grow and fill ourselves with understanding of ourselves and others. We, like the quartz crystal are perfectly made created by the Universe to experience all aspects of life.
I often sit with quartz and just be with it. I'm not a fan of knowing what a crystal or stone is good for, as far as health issues are concerned and have long held the belief that I learn a lot more from stones by studying their beauty and just being with them.
In the same way, when we sit and listen to our clients we provide a special space. A space where we can pay attention and attune to the voice and intuitive nudges of Reiki, a space which is free from judgement and allows healing to flow to the client.
The rainbow - a bridge between heaven and earth, the Universe and planet, the Source and its creation. I also percieve it to illustrate the aspects of ourselves that shine out of our being.
The rainbow is composed of many colours, similarly we are composed of different aspects/characters, often described as colours - red with anger, green with envy etc.
You see we are perfect creations of love, of source energy, just like the beautiful quartz crystal.
The rainbow symbolises our connection with the earth and the source, a healthy balanced integration between the two. We all have a rainbow within us, we create our colours that we shine out to the world representing all the various aspects of ourselves.
We judge that some of our aspects are good or bad, but actually they are all part of our life experience. Without experiences of all aspects of ourselves, in all their shades and colours how could we understand what life is all about.
How could we offer empathy to the clients we work with.
How could we understand what Love truly is if we have never experienced things that test it.
Life would be such a dull adventure without RAINBOWS.
You are a real person.
Individual you.
You're experiencing life in your own unique way, no-one can possibly experience things exactly in the same way.
Be pround of your uniqueness, you're perfect as you are. Be proud to be colourful
Fill your aura with colours, fill it right up with Reiki.
Breathe in this beautiful rainbow light and healing energy.
Inhale and shine out your bright colours.

You've just got to smile
I just want to remind you to smile today!
Sometimes we forget to look around and see the things that can fill us full of joy.
As you go about your day, occassionally look around and see if you can find something unexpected that will make you smile, better still something that makes you laugh out loud.
This alpaca makes me smile, perhaps its the 'What you looking at?' look on its face!
Have a fun filled day.

Authenticity
Hello!
Are you who you say you are?
or are you someone else?
Are you in there?
or are you out here?
who is who, which one's you?
While you're in there judging yourself
and out there judging others,
there's another you you're overlooking.
Your authentic self
You don't have time to hang around
to try and come to terms with why you're here and mortal
You're here, in the now
Download your internal help centre
Listen as it plays back
Stop condemning what you and others say
Maintain groundedness
Centre in the reality of the now
Switch on Reiki
Be authentically you,
right here, right now.
By Mavis
To ponder on
To find the universal elements enough;
to find the air and the water exhilarating;
to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter;
to be thrilled by the stars at night;
to be elated over a birds's nest or a wildfower in spring -
these are some of the rewards of the simple life

The air we breathe
As I look out on the blazing sunshine, I can't help but take a deep breath of appreciation. There's a sense of Autumnal crispness in the air, strands of spiders silver threads and pearl like dew are strewn about the garden dancing on the casual breeze. It excites me, the day's just introduced itself and there's an expectation.
I am truly blessed, as I look out of my window, I see the river right there before me reaching out with its flexible fingers of exploration, out into the countryside making its way deep into the parts where natures free to play without human intervention. It's all scrumptious and it makes my heart sing.
My in breath reaches deep inside me, just as Reiki does when we work together. They both work to nourish my cells and rejuvenate my being. Breath and Reiki flowing in unison to produce a wonderful source of vitality.
Every day as we walk this generous earth we inhale about 20, 000 breaths. In one lifetime it's possible that we breathe about 65 million breaths. As long as we keep breathing, we stay alive.
I wonder often where my breath goes. Where does it journey to? as it lifts on up, into the fresh morning air and I watch it change to a misty condensation, I can see it travelling off on the breeze or lifting upwards like a waft of smoke alighting on a sky full of adventure. Where does it go?
Dear breath, do you Join the clouds, travel on the wind and lift high up over mountain ranges, turning into snow and ice?
Do you get recycled and inhaled by animals, humans, my neighbour, my friends, Souls from all over the world?
Do you join the air to create the perfect conditions for the birds in flight above us?
Will you stroke the cheek of children as you dance the Summer air?
Would you set the rustling sails in motion as ships and boats alight the ocean?
Are you waiting to play with the falling red and fiery coloured leaves as Autumn strips the trees?
Call on Reiki
Focus on its healing flow.
Ask Reiki to share with you a moment, to contemplate the flow of your breath.
Take time to appreciate the immense possibilities that are held within the breath, your breath, each life giving breath that you take, that we all take.

You are special and deserve a hug
It's the weekend!
We don't often get time to do something for ourselves so here's a quick method of giving yourself some attention, love and Reiki.
Call on Reiki to flow through you, then simply put your arms around yourself.
Say " I love and accept myself exactly as I am, it doesn't matter what I think I've done, or not done, I am loved"

Ground, balance and centre
You can do this either on the floor or on the bed.
In my own experience doing this exercise before I go to bed makes me feel a bit too wide awake to go to sleep, but it's through experience that we find what's right for us and you need to assertain for yourself what feels good and what doesn't. Remember there aren't any hard and fast rules, if you sense you need to do things differently then do so.
Call on Reiki and immerse yourself in it for 5-10mins or as long as you feel necessary to relax fully into it.
Bring your hands up to your heart, placing one hand on top of the other. Imagine your heart opening to Reiki.
Bend your knees and lay them out against the floor (or bed) bringing your feet up to meet each other sole to sole.
Take a few deep breaths and relax into this position.
Imagine a ball of light above your head and see a beam of light travelling down through your crown to your heart, your sacral centre and to the soles of your feet.
State out loud or in your head "I am grounded between heaven and earth"
again breathe deeply and feel yourself firmly planted on the breathing earth. See the light becoming brighter around your feet and flowing into the earth.
State out loud or in your head "I am centred"
Breathe deeply from about two inches below your naval, know that you are perfectly balanced between the physical and spiritual. Imagine the beam of light becoming brighter in the sacral area.
State out loud or in your head "I am balanced" Feel the right and left sides of your body perfectly in alignment and equally supporting you. Now the light becomes brighter within the heart area. Be grateful in this moment for all the different aspects of yourself that go to making the whole, perfect being that you are, love all that you are deeply.
Bathe in the light and Reiki energy for as long as is comfortable. Be open to experience and put aside expectation.
It can be a little uncomfortable to maintain this position for any length of time so make sure you take care to remain comfortable, only hold this position for a few minutes if its more appropriate.

Giving a gift with love
When using Reiki it's possible for you to pass a gift to someone, something that's right and appropriate for the moment. We're not involved in deciding what this gift might be, but if the exercise is done with love then you'll find that people react in extraordinary ways.
Giving this type of gift is something that the recipient never need know about.
To give of love is something that comes from the heart. It's a quiet offering assisted by Reiki to heal in ways that are not obvious to ourselves.
Giving this type of gift is something that the recipient never need know about.

- Sit and open to Reiki. Call on the Power symbol and merge with the energy of Source, giving yourself Reiki for as long as you feel necessary.
- Repeat the distance symbol three times and imagine it in the middle of each palm
- Once you feel ready state your intention 'With my heart open to love, and Reiki energy merging with my mind, body and spirit, I ask that I be shown an appropriate gift to give ...........................for their highest good, health and wellbeing right now.
- Picture the person in your minds eye and send them Reiki, imagine that the Reiki energy is flowing from your palms to the person as well as through the top of your crown out from your heart to the person.
- Listen to your intuition, ask that Reiki help you to understand what's required.
- Never judge what comes to you, just TRUST and know that the Universe knows best. Imagine being infront of the person whom you wish to give the gift to and be guided to say what you feel is right. Hand them the gift and thank them for accepting it. Feel the love and beautiful Reiki energy surrounding you both, knowing that you have no ties or expectiations related to what has taken place.
- If the person doesn't accept the gift, still feeling the love and energy of Reiki surrounding you both, knowing and trusting that it's meant to be, call upon the angels to make the gift accessible to the person when they feel ready to accept it.
- Holding your hands in Gassho position, bow to the person thanking them for being there and sharing this moment. Return to the room where you are seated. Continue to send Reiki to the person for as long as you feel is necessary.

Sit with an open mind and an open heart, release all expectation
To feel a deeper connection to Reiki I've found it's simply about giving up any expectation. Expectation merely serves as a barrier to the true essence of wellbeing.
We can all access deeper levels of Reiki understanding, as we move aside from our limited understanding of the word channel and venture forth into the vastness of potential.
Ask what you can do for Reiki, what is it that you are required to experience? When Reiki is flowing, sit with it. Learn to just sit and be with Reiki. Fill yourself up with it's love and be 'REIKI FULL'. Know the energy, watch it and feel its activity.
When you share Reiki with others, do the same process - become Reiki full and then proceed with channelling Reiki. When you open your own heart to be healed and surrender to the Universal energy that is Reiki, when you demonstrate your 'TRUST' in the processes of Reiki beyond doubt, then miracles will occur.
If you can't open to the potential of Reiki and its loving energy how can you trust it to work with and for others? It makes no sense.
Reiki attunements are the processes whereby we are given the foundations on which to build experience.
To experience what?
A unique relationship with an energy that you are attuned to. There is one of you, but many experiences with which you can familiarise yourself with the loving energy of Reiki. These experiences are never the same for two people. If you're inclined to look for direction from the experiences of others then you curtail the possibilities. Expectations are founded on what we think we know.
We should experiement with the release of all expectation, in order to understand the true source of our being. When we release expectation all things become possible.

Looking for an answer?
A fascinating read 'The Breakthrough Experience' by Dr John F. Demartini
" I learned about the essence of healing: that if I didn't take credit and I didn't take blame, I could be in the zone that brought miracles to people.
When you're centred, you do not see yourself as separate from divinity or humaity and you see human will and divine will as one. That's when you have an inspired revelation that tells you what to do and you act on it without reacting.
At the institute of Heart Math in Boulder creek, California, researchers have shown that when a person is in a state of love and appreciation, the power of their intent is maximised."
When you're giving reiki, are you worried about what you're doing, what your position is in the process? The quote above might go some way to answering your question. It's not our position to ask if we're doing things wrong or right with Reiki, It's a process we really need to just trust in. It helps if you ask yourself the question: 'am I focused on love and gratitude right now?'. If you're worried about Reiki, throughout the process focus on love, the love channelling through you, the love in your heart, your relationship to the reiki energy travelling through you in love. Love and gratitude are fundamental in our healing work both on ourselves and others.

Turn the tables
You might have noticed that posts to this blog are a little sporadic to say the least!
I have to be honest, I've found writing for both the blog and the Reiki News and Views newsletter increasingly difficult. All is change, transformation and movement at present. So much so that once a word, or a thought is written it immediately forces me to re-evalutate, change my mind and pronounce it out of date instantaneously!
My ideas and views jump about and morph into other creations, darting to alternative destinations within my head - leaving it spinning to be frank. Therefore, I've decided to just flow with the process of life and wait, once I hear the call to write, or to move the blog and newsletter forward, when I sense the moment is right to progress with it you'll know - just bare with me for the now!
At this moment, I would like to share with you a recent chat with my thought committee (my new term for the internal chatterings of the mind). Reiki constantly waters the seeds of growth, in and around me. It gently soothes me when I'm fraught and rains down light to help me sparkle when things seem stubbornly grey. During the past month Reiki has prompted me to look at it from a different angle.
Reiki - something we offer to others? something that we practice on ourselves enableing us to grow, expand and develop the spiritual aspects of ourselves? all that and more. Reiki is an energy that is all intelligent, loving and light. When you work with Reiki next, instead of holding the intention for whatever purpose you intended to work with it, stop, quieten the mind and rest in Reiki's energy. Ask 'What can I do for Reiki?'
Breathe in and out in the moment. Don't expect anything, don't listen for anything, don't try and feel anything, just be in that moment with Reiki.
Turn the tables just now, focus on knowing reiki, intimitely. Don't force an answer. Yes it could take weeks but it's worth the wait as you have given over your time to genuinely relate to and form a active relationship with Reiki energy. When the moment is right Reiki will guide you, it's a process of trust and acknowledging the commitment you have with it. Seize the opportunity now, for this moment in time to look more deeply into Reiki. Where would the Reiki path take you if you opened up truly to its intelligence.
Remember, no two people experience Reiki in the same way and therefore you need to break away, be brave, walk forward into the Reiki experience and ask it what it would like you to do for it.

Balance
Recently I've been trying out Reiki positions that I feel work well for me.
- Lying or sitting down, I cross my arms over my chest. This feels like a mini hug although you don't actually wrap your arms around you. If you feel like it, then of course do the whole bear hug thing but crossing your arms and just resting your hands on opposite shoulders is a lovely position to give yourself reiki. Very comforting. Use the symbols as you're drawn to do so. Listen to your intuition.
The next position that I've been working with is this:
- Lie down on a bed and cross your feet left over right to start. At the same time cross your arms over your chest right over left, the opposite of your feet. Hold this position for 5-10 mins or as long as it remains comfortable. After holding this position for the desired time swap over and put your right foot over left, cross the left arm over the right. Hold this position for another 5-10 mins. This isn't meant to be uncomfortable so don't hold the position for two long to start with. It feels very balancing and is a great way to start the day.
- While I'm watching tv at the end of the day I sometime sit with my chin in my hands. I hold my palms upwards and lay them directly under my chin with the index fingers and thumb one side of my ear, the other fingers on the other side. I feel as if it supports the whole of my head and acts like a kind of scaffolding after a hard day! (sounds wierd I know) I love the comforting, supportive healing that reiki brings me when I have my hands in this position.

Let it flow
It's so difficult to move away from the belief that we should be feeling, seeing sensing, experiencing something similar to others, when we are working with energy.
There is such a thing as individuality and difference because all of us are different aspects of the potential, present in life. If there was no such thing as difference why would there be more than one person on this planet?
It's nothing short of a miracle that we are all able to experience things differently. Yet we struggle with the theory that being an individual is the key to success. This is what leads to undiscovered potential and unimagined breakthroughs in our work.
Be big and bold, be fearless. Walk forward in the hands of reiki knowing that it is a much, much more intelligent energy than you could ever imagine. It is coursing through your life knowing exactly what's right for you, even though you may not know yourself.
Trust that whatever occurs whilst you use Reiki is right for you. When you release expectations and your own personal rules and judgement, the energy is free to flow and to work much more fluidly. Work on freeing yourself of expectation and opening to potential and the unimagined.
When Dr Usui was working with Reiki he continuously modified and changed his methods, as Reiki was passed on to others it has continued to change and grow in many different directions. Reiki was always, and always will be, continuously evolving. If you give it half a chance it will work to help you to evolve too.
Sometimes we become caught up in the way that we practice reiki, the way that we should work with the hand positions, are we doing it right etc. There is only one thing that really needs to be considered when working with Reiki and that is your intention. The intention to work from the Heart of Reiki, that is from a place of love and trust.
Reiki can never do any harm, it is waiting for us to embrace the opportunity to know the potential of its healing energy now.

Where is happiness?
"Subtly, in the little ways, joy has been seeping out of our lives. The small pleasures of the ordinary day seem almost contemptible, and glance off us lightly.......
Perhaps its a good time to reconsider pleasure at its roots. Changing out of wet shoes and socks, for instance. Bathrobes. Yawning and stretching. Real tomatoes."

Thoughts on happiness....
Happiness, ultimately, is a word that helps us to express an array of feelings.
Just like each and everyone of us has a different experience of what Reiki is, so too, we have a different experience of what Happiness is. Happiness means something different to everyone.
But what happens when we get past the word? what exists under the text?
By allowing yourself time to think about what happiness means to you, you allow yourself time to get past the limitations imposed on you and our society and to get to the very essence of what it means personally.
The way you view happiness influences your life, it affects the way you live day to day. It affects the way you shine out your true colours. It affects the way you treat yourself.
Happiness is just a word, but when you take time to peel back the layers of preconcieved ideas and jump right in, embracing the experience, then you will begin to break free and truly know who you are.
Happiness is ultimately an experience that is way beyond words. It's something you need to feel on a personal level. Feel it in your bones, feel it to your core.
What thoughts does this bring about?

Quote for today.
Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself:
I, not events, have the power to make me happy
or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be.
Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I
have just one day, today, and I'm going to be
happy in it.

QUESTION!
What is happiness?
What does happiness mean to you?
over the next few days invite reiki energy to work with you,
Contemplate...................................
BE MINDFUL
As you flow through your day, put the word MEDITATION at the end of all the things that you do.
- Washing up meditation
- Eating meditation
- Shower meditation
- Work meditation
when you do this you become mindful in every minute.
Every thought is in the now.
Smile and be your smile, radiate your light.

Look it in the eye......
To love and live by the power of 'INTENTION' is to know who you are in the moment.
Look that word INTENTION in the eye and contemplate.
Just how important is intention to you?
What sized space is it taking up in your life?
Do you think about what your intention is on a regular basis, or is it just something you've read about?
Today, take some time to think about what INTENTION means to you.
What do you know about it, where does it fit in to your daily routine?
How does INTENTION relate to your reiki practice?

Try this
Fill a green bottle with water, call on Reiki, say a short prayer or blessing and leave it out in the sun to charge with energy.
Fill a clear bottle with water and leave it inside, don't do anything with it.
Taste the two types of water afterwards. The water in the green bottle charged by the sun should taste mellow in comparison and be highly charged with healing.
The charged water is also great for feeding plants, they tend to grow a lovely strong root system and really healthy strong green leaves.
It's the perfect time of year for trying this out, as new growth springs up everywhere and we're celebrating the re-emergence of the sun after the long Winter months.

Clearing the air, calming the mind
I've been using a reiki space clearing method for a while now and thought I'd share it with you.
I was having trouble sleeping so I asked for guidance about how to help to calm the rooms energy. I was shown in my minds eye a beautiful picture of Cho-Ku-Rei, it was a huge, 3D golden version of the symbol, spinning very slowly in the middle of the room.
Having been given this insight, I walked into the centre of the room, calling on Reiki and saying a short prayer.
I drew a Cho-Ku-Rei symbol with my fingers in the air. (you can visualise yourself doing this process rather than doing it physically)
Immediately, I could see in my minds eye the symbol starting to rotate slowly and shower the rom with tiny glitter particles that filled the air with healing energy. It looked like a Catherine wheel.
After using this method successfully, I realised I could use the process while I was in any busy place with uncomfortable energy. I simply call on Reiki, hold the intention of cleansing the energy and visualise the process of drawing Ch-Ku-Rei in the centre of the room. I then visualise the beautiful symbol turning and scattering its positive, healing.
I use the same visualisation method when my head feels very busy. I simply visualise myself drawing a Cho-Ku-Rei symbol in the middle of my mind and imagine it starts spinning, it's a very slow spin remember!
Try it yourself and let me know how you get on.

The elegant orchid
I love to pay attention to the beauty of the orchids in my home, my dear plant friends .
I see a huge sprinkling system of Reiki pouring over them with thousands of tiny reiki symbols and golden light particles that glisten and sparkly keenly.
The orchids love it, I can sense their delight at having attention.
I delight in their beauty. We both embrace Reiki.

LIGHT THE WAY WITH YOUR SHINING REFLECTION
Light is at the forefront of my thoughts this week. It's even more pronounced now the days are longer and the sun has blessed us with warmer hours.
I've been contemplating the following this morning:
The sun, there it is in the healing blue of the sky, suspended like a golden disk of light.
Sunshine, warmth and light embracing us as we wander the earth, revitalising and bringing hope.
The sun reflecting from surfaces all around us forming our perspective and perception of the world.
All aspects of the same, all aspects of one.
Contemplation number 2: Reflect on this reflection
We see the light as it reflects off surfaces, dancing, shodows playing, but it's only on the surface of water that we can see the sun's true face, there we can truly see its power. When the water moves, the reflection moves, nothing is constant, all is changing and yet the fundamental elements are still there.
There is water, there is sun. You observe the water and the sun appears there, they are now one, the water and sun, the earth and sky and in the middle is me the observer.
The sun is our father, the masculine, as the earth is our mother, the feminine. Embrace the balance of energies.
